Hyundai Nishat launched the 8th generation Sonata in Pakistan on July 5, 2021, and right after approximately 3.5 years, the company is gearing up to bring the facelift model of the D-segment beauty on wheels. This facelift model landed in the international market in March 2023.
The company has not shared the details translating what the facelift Sonata reaching Pakistan will actually boast. In the meantime, settle for international features and specifications, somewhat enough to get the glimpse of what to expect.
International Specs & Features
The midsize sedan boasts a sportier design and advanced technological features. This isn’t merely a facelift of the 2019 model. The new Sonata showcases low-slung, elegant proportions, aggressive styling, and cutting-edge technology.
Design & Visual Aesthetics
The vehicle’s exterior boldly emphasizes its sporty character. Sharp, linear elements and clean, supple surfaces create a striking visual impact. At the rear, distinctive headlights not only enhance the car’s high-tech image but also visually emphasize its wide stance.
Facelift’s design embodies Hyundai’s “Sensuous Sportiness“ philosophy, featuring a horizontal front-end layout. Key elements include the signature Seamless Horizon Lamp, hidden headlamps, a wide grille, and air intake, contributing to a dynamic and aggressive aesthetic.
Style & Serenity
The interior of the Sonata facelift prioritizes driver-centricity. It incorporates delicate, high-tech details that seamlessly integrate into modern lifestyles. A significant highlight is the inclusion of a panoramic curved display, a first for any Hyundai model.
This innovative feature seamlessly combines a 12.3-inch driver information cluster with a 12.3-inch AVN infotainment system. Furthermore, the touch-type climate control unit on the instrument panel further elevates the overall high-tech ambiance.
The interior offers a diverse palette of color combinations, expertly balancing sporty aesthetics with a premium character. A prominent “floating“ theme pervades the cabin, creating a distinctly futuristic ambiance.
The column-type shift-by-wire controller, strategically positioned behind the steering wheel, liberates valuable space in the center console. To enhance convenience for occupants, the interior thoughtfully incorporates a large cup holder and a practical tray.
Power & Performance
The Korean manufacturer launched the Sonata facelift in both standard and hybrid variants. The hybrid variant utilizes a 2.0-liter Smartstream GDi HEV engine, delivering a maximum power output of 152 PS and a peak torque of 188 Nm.
