China is quickly emerging as a leader in manufacturing electric vehicles. A major factor contributing to its leadership is affordability. Recently, another electric sedan, ORA 7, saw daylight. Coming from automaker giant, Great Wall Motors (GWM), it is the second model after the launch of ORA 03. The other models from the same OEM, like Haval and Tank, have seen great success in recent years.
GWM ORA 7 – Overview
After BYD and Deepal, this year seems like a blooming one for the Pakistani car industry. Previously, we reviewed ORA 03 from the same GWM. It was a hatchback having the same design language as other ORA cars. However, ORA 7 looks hugely inspired by the Porsche Panamera, following the same curvaceous body and the signature oval-ish headlamps.
Exterior
ORA 7 is a D-segment sedan with a fish-scaled front bumper. The side profile looks accentuated with aerodynamic 19-inch wheels embedded with brake calipers. The side profile has running chrome and concealed door handles. Moving on to the rear profile, the boot shape looks attractive yet unique, with a hidden spoiler and a humongous panoramic glass roof.
The Cockpit of ORA 7
These days, designers are trying really hard to make a car look like an aerospace shuttle by giving it a futuristic cockpit styling. With a single-toned interior, it can be chosen from either Tan or black, paired with Alcantara lookalike material on the dash, and it looks quite premium. A console that reminisces the best of Bugatti with sleek styling, physical buttons, and knobs.
There are six driving modes in total, ranging from Normal, ECO, Individual, Sport (2 modes), and Well-being. You can easily choose from your personal preference. Other notable features include:
- Infiniti sound system.
- Apple Car Play.
- Wireless Android Auto.
- Rear USB charging ports.
- Rear AC vents.
- Massager seats with lumbar support.
Although ORA 7 offers great leg space and headroom, its ingress is a bit tricky, and you need to be careful not to bump your head against the window liner.
Battery And Safety
ORA 7 is available in two variants worldwide. However, the one launched in Pakistan is an All-Wheel drive with an 81 KW battery pack capable of delivering 400 horsepower and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
While pedal shifters are missing, the car has several ADAS features, including Lane Keep, Lane Assist, and auto braking. A heads-up display, with all major readings displayed on the windscreen, makes it easy for the driver to cruise.
If you are looking for a unique outfitted sedan with high acceleration, modern design, and affordability, ORA 7 is your pick.
