Currently, the high-end smartphone market is thriving – offering specialized gaming phones, camera-centric flagships, flagship killers, and phones known for their impressive battery life. However, the nubia Z60 Ultra looks to fill a unique niche, aiming to be both a cameraphone and a gaming phone.
Prior to conducting our tests, let’s quickly go over the contents of the nubia Z60 Ultra package. The phone comes with a durable plastic case, an 80W charger, and a USB-C cable.
The nubia Z60 Ultra is a top-tier flagship device equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, up to 24GB of RAM, IP68 waterproofing, and an under-display camera.
However, the standout feature is its camera system. ZTE is unique in its use of a physical 35mm main lens – a favorite among photographers, particularly those who enjoy traditional methods. The 35mm lens delivers a narrower field of view compared to the standard 23-24mm focal length, offering excellent subject-to-background separation. Additionally, the phone boasts an ample 1/1.49-inch sensor.
The ultrawide lens is also intriguing – at 18mm (still wide), and it features a large 1/1.55-inch sensor and a bright f/1.8 lens. The zoom is an 85mm f/3.3 periscope with a sizable half-inch sensor.
We have high expectations for the nubia Z60 Ultra’s camera system, assuming the software can effectively utilize the hardware’s capabilities.
Lastly, let’s discuss the phone’s design and build. The nubia Z60 Ultra is a robust, rectangular phone with thick sides, weighing 246g due to its massive 6,000mAh battery. Its matte metal casing is both visually appealing and delightful to the touch.
For now, that’s all the information we have. Stay tuned for more updates.
