The Pad 6 Pro was released in China by Xiaomi in April 2023, and now the Pad 7 lineup is set to be launched. According to information from Digital Chat Station, the new flagship tablet will debut next month and will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
According to the leakster, a Pad 7 is on the way with last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while the Pro version is expected to have the latest top-tier Qualcomm SoC. This would mark a significant improvement over the previous Pad 6 lineup, where both the Pro and the Max models featured a year-old chip, and the basic version reviewed last summer was using the older Snapdragon 870.
The Pad 7 may come with 100W fast charging, and the Pad 7 Pro might feature an OLED panel, which would be a first for a Xiaomi tablet, as all previous models have been released with an LCD screen.
While these features are promising, it would be even more exciting if the company decided to release the Pro version outside of China, as all top-tier tablets from Xiaomi have been restricted to the domestic market so far.
