The Honda HR-V, a compact city SUV from Honda, is known for its practical and clever features at an affordable price point. Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) launched the HR-V in October 2022 as a CKD model in Pakistan. It is an upgraded version of the Honda Vezel and is globally known as the Vezel but called the HR-V in Pakistan. Available in two variants, VTi is the base model while VTi S is the top-of-the-line option.

On the flip side, the Toyota Corolla Cross is a reliable daily family car from Toyota, known for its comfort and practicality with a range of standard features. Toyota Indus Motors introduced the Corolla Cross as its first compact crossover in 2021 as a CBU unit and later shifted to CKD production in December 2023, focusing on non-hybrid variants.

Comparing the top-of-the-line models, we have the HR-V VTi S and the Corolla Cross 1.8 X.

Interior

The interior of the HR-V stands out in its class with an elegant design featuring chrome-plated knobs and buttons with satisfying click sounds. While there is hard plastic on the dashboard, it still maintains a premium look and feel. The functionality is practical, offering ample storage and compartments. However, seat adjustments are manual, and the sound system may not meet the expectations of music enthusiasts.

The visibility from the driver’s seat is excellent, thanks to narrow windscreen pillars and large side windows. The seats are upholstered in leather stitching, providing a luxurious touch.

The Corolla Cross also offers a quality interior, with the higher trim featuring Terra Rosa interior and the lower trim coming with a black interior. The dashboard, seats, and steering are wrapped in soft leather, offering a premium feel. Notably, the driver’s seat has electronic adjustments, giving it an edge over the HR-V.

Exterior

The exterior of the HR-V has a futuristic appeal, with a body-colored front grille and LED DRL projector lamps. Matte black skirts, alloy rims, and other design elements enhance its sporty look.

The Corolla Cross combines elements from Toyota’s RAV4 and 12th generation Corolla, featuring projector lamps, LED DRLs, and a sleek design. The side profile also incorporates design elements for a modern and stylish appearance.
