The Galaxy A55 is a solid mid-range option, although it may be considered a bit expensive. While it’s still too early for discounts, Samsung is offering a launch promotion, which includes a free storage upgrade. This means that the 256GB model is priced the same as the 128GB version.

In addition, there is an €80 trade-in bonus available when you send in your old phone. For example, a Galaxy A54 is valued at €200 for a 128GB unit. With the trade-in bonus, the A55 256GB model can drop to €200. The older A53 (128GB) could fetch €170, while an A52 (128GB) would get you €140. Keep in mind that trading in a phone with 256GB storage may get you €20-30 more.

In certain regions like the UK, the A55 is priced the same as the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, which may not be the best deal. In the US, the A55 is not even available, with Samsung recommending the purchase of the S23 FE instead.

In Germany, the situation is slightly different. Samsung.com is selling the 8/128GB Galaxy S23 FE for €630, while Amazon has it a bit cheaper at €605. Both prices are noticeably higher than the A55 before factoring in the promotional offer.

While the A55 may have a slower chipset compared to the FE (Exynos 2200 on the FE), it offers superior battery life (13:27h active use score vs. 8:28h). The A55 also features an aluminum frame and Victus+ on the front. The only area where the A55 falls short compared to the S23 FE is in zoom capabilities.

The Galaxy A35 also offers a free storage upgrade, where the 128GB model comes with 6GB of RAM and the 256GB model with 8GB. While a microSD slot allows for additional storage, RAM cannot be increased. The A35 is similar to the A54 from the previous year.

Compared to the A55, the A35 has a more plastic build (both chassis and back) and features the older Exynos 1380 chipset. There are several other differences, such as a 13MP selfie camera instead of 32MP.

The Nothing Phone (2) has seen a gradual decrease in price, with a 12/256GB unit available for under €550 – which is less than the Galaxy S23 FE. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is more efficient than the Exynos 2200, and it features an LTPO display with 6.7” 120Hz FHD+ resolution and 10-bit colors.

While the Nothing Phone (2) lacks a telephoto camera, it does offer a 50MP ultra-wide camera. It has a basic IP54 dust and water resistance rating and supports 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. The battery endurance is significantly better compared to the S23 FE.

The Realme 11 Pro, priced at €240, offers great value for money with its 6.7” 120Hz FHD+ display and Dimensity 7050 chipset. It features a 100MP main camera with OIS and decent zoom capabilities. The battery life is solid, with the 5,000mAh battery fully charging in 47 minutes.

For a similar price, the Redmi Note 13 offers a comparable display, a 108MP main camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. While the zoom capabilities are decent, the battery life is not as impressive compared to the Realme 11 Pro. The Dimensity 6080 chipset in the Redmi is also slightly slower than the one in the Realme.

The Meta Quest 2 is now priced at €250, making it a more affordable option for those interested in VR. While the Quest 3 offers improvements in resolution and color passthrough, it comes at a higher cost, making the Quest 2 a more accessible choice for first-timers.
