5th Gen Kia Sportage Hybrid
For Sportage lovers, now 5th generation 1.6L hybrid variant mated with 6-speed automatic (FWD), will be another option producing maximum power of 227hp and 305 Nm. Currently, Sportage fans are happy with old 4th generation, however, the latest one will be in town soon.
Considering the competition in market, it may compete with the likes of Haval H6 hybrid and Jolion also from the same league.
Hyundai Elantra Hybrid
First things first regarding this PAPS 2024: this show will be a house of CKD hybrid cars, plain and simple. Hence, here is another hybrid car, this time from Hyundai Nishat’s successful lineup – the Hyundai Elantra hybrid.
The Hyundai Elantra hybrid’s sleek design making it a futuristic one. Its striking appearance is sure to turn heads on the road, making it a true standout.
MG HS PHEV
Again, here is another CKD hybrid car with mixture of some electric power, well, we mean, MG HS plug-in hybrid (PHEV), a competitor specifically for the already-reigning Haval H6 HEV. Previously, MG Pakistan launched petrol variant of MG HS in 2021 which was a great success. However, this time, company will unveil facelift model of MG HS PHEV at PAPS 2024.
Kia EV 5
Another car from Kia Lucky Motor but this time all-electric mid-size SUV specifically for those who are interested to buy a C segment but electric crossover.
Earlier, there were a series of speculations translating that Kia Lucky Motors could bring EV5, EV6 or EV9. However, the recent updates have confirmed that company is all set to bring EV5 which, at first, will be unveiled at Pakistan Auto Show, first. Below is the teaser image, signaling the upcoming car.
Kia EV is anticipated to arrive in Pakistan in the near future, with a possible launch around early 2025. While there is some speculation that it could arrive as soon as December 2024, that seems a bit optimistic. Therefore, our estimated timeline for the vehicle’s debut in the Pakistani market is set for the start of 2025.
MG Cyberster
This time, it is entirely a different vehicle from local car maker MG Pakistan – an all-electric sports car, Cyberster. The company will display all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD) variants of vehicles in PAPS 2024.
MG Cyberster” is powered by a 77kWh ternary lithium battery which supports 144kW DC Charging. Concerning performance, AWD variant generates 510hp and 725 Nm torque, whereas RWD variant produces 340hp and 475 Nm torque. Moreover, AWD reaches 0-100 in 3.2 seconds, whilst the later comes with 5.0s.
Changan Lumin
Mini-EV Lumin is another electric car, but this time from Changan Pakistan, that will enter PAPS 2024.
The Lumin was initially available with two LFP battery options: 12.92 kWh and 17.65 kWh. These batteries provide a range of 155 km and 210 km, respectively. Later, a 27.99 kWh battery option was introduced, offering a range of 301 km.
Powering the Lumin is a single electric motor (FWD) that generates 30 kW (41 hp). A more powerful 35 kW (48 hp) motor option will also be available. While these power figures may seem modest, they are well-suited for a city car and offer a peppy and efficient driving experience.
Other Variants & Facelifts
Last but not least, one variant of BYD Atto 3 and two variants of BYD SEAL are also reported to take a part in this auto show. Earlier, BYD has officially launched in Pakistan, however, the company has not revealed any of its model. BYD Pakistan is expected to unveil Sealion 6 and Seal at PAPS 2024. Moreover, a mild-facelift variant of Kia Stonic is also expected to be revealed at PAPS 2024.
