Google has started rolling out new Android updates just in time for this year’s MWC. These updates are designed to enhance your mobile experience, with many features leveraging AI technology and improving existing functionalities.
One of the new updates allows the AI-powered assistant to summarize incoming messages, including those from group chats, and offer contextual replies or actions. For example, you can easily make a call or share your route and ETA with just one tap.
Additionally, the AI can now describe online images, photos, or pictures in messages to assist users with visual impairments. The Lens feature has also been enhanced to provide audio information about your surroundings when pointed at them.
Another interesting feature is the ability to chat with Gemini, Google’s AI chatbot, directly within the default Android Messages app. Users can engage in full conversations with Gemini without leaving the app.
Google Docs on mobile now has a markup option for highlighting text and attaching notes. Spotify has also received an update, allowing native casting controls from the notification shade for easy device switching and volume control.
The Fitbit app now offers deeper integration with other health data sources, allowing users to view all their health-related stats from various apps in one place. Additionally, Wear OS has been updated to support boarding passes, membership cards, event tickets, and more in the dedicated Wallet app. Wear OS Google Maps version now includes public transit directions for easier navigation.
