Following the initiation of pre-orders, sales of the Apple Vision Pro headsets rapidly increased – estimates suggest between 160,000 and 180,000 units have been sold, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Ongoing reports indicate that approximately 200,000 Vision Pros have been purchased in the 10 days since pre-orders commenced, somewhat slower than initial sales.
While the review embargo is set for today, shipping and open sales for the new spatial computer will begin on Friday. The question remains – will the reviews help sway individuals to invest in Apple’s mixed reality headset? Or will they have the opposite effect?
Priced at $3,500, this accessory is targeted at business users and affluent enthusiasts, thus sales are not expected to overshadow those of the iPhone or even the Mac. However, this marks Apple’s entry into a new product category after quite some time, meaning there is a lot of stake in its success (albeit not as much as the recently troubled Apple car).
