Apple has launched the visionOS 1.0.3 update for the Vision Pro, which includes “significant bug fixes” and now allows users to reset the device at home if they forget their passcode.

Previously, if users forgot their Apple Vision Pro passcode, they had to bring the headset to an Apple Store or find a way to obtain a special $300 Developer Strap available through the Apple Developer Program to reset the device.

Ordering Apple Vision Pro apparently requires an Apple device with Face ID

With the visionOS 1.0.3 update, if an incorrect passcode is entered a certain number of times, users will have the option to erase the Vision Pro. However, this action will not remove the Vision Pro’s Activation Lock, and users will still need to log in with their Apple ID. This means that if the Vision Pro is stolen and erased, it still cannot be used by the perpetrator.
