Last week, financial prosecutors in France conducted a search of Huawei’s offices, but French authorities were quick to clarify that this is simply a preliminary inquiry and does not necessarily indicate any wrongdoing. Nevertheless, there are grounds to suspect the Chinese company of engaging in corruption, showing favoritism, and engaging in peddling influence.

Both Huawei and French officials have confirmed that the search took place on Tuesday, but have not disclosed any additional information.

French financial prosecutors raid Huawei's offices in the country

A representative of the company responded by reminding France that Huawei has made substantial investments in research within the country and will soon open a multi-billion-dollar wireless communication equipment factory in 2025, which will create jobs and bring value. As a result, Huawei has no reason to interfere in domestic affairs.

The spokesperson emphasized that Huawei has been operating in France for the past two decades and has always followed the law, and will continue to do so. Nevertheless, the company will cooperate with and assist French authorities in their investigation.
