EV giant or Tesla Killer – One brand that defends all these titles is the BYD. Build Your Dream, or BYD is a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturing company that has been leading electric car sales globally for two years. Recently, the OEM withheld its launching ceremony in Pakistan with an introduction of its sedan, hatchback, and SUV, Atto3, Sealion, and Dolphin. Fortunately, we got our hands on the luxurious BYD Seal and thought to share its drooling-ly luxurious fascia with our readers.

BYD Seal – Overview

BYD has introduced a range of vehicles with an ocean-inspired design philosophy. Seal is a sedan that follows the X design concept with a sleek and dynamic exterior. Its front bumper has U-shaped headlights, and the side profile looks sleek like the fins of a seal. The rear has a taillight shaped like a dot matrix that runs through the whole back, and the rear diffuser further enhances its overall road presence.

Battery And Performance

BYD has been a pioneer in battery manufacturing for 29 years. Its blade battery technology is counted as revolutionary, offering increased space utilization, excellent thermal stability, cobalt-free technology, and durability.

In context, Seal has a battery pack of 82.5 kWh, which gives a combined WLTP range of 570 km. Not only this, its 0-100 is 3.8 seconds, which is impeccable for an all-wheel drive vehicle. Moreover, the automaker’s signature cell-to-body, CTB technology, forms a ‘sandwich’ and works as a structural component of the car, withstanding significant forces.

Features

Seal is undoubtedly a treat of luxury. Equipped with two luxury screens, a 15.5-inch tilting screen for entertainment and an 8-inch screen for the information cluster panel, you can access everything and anything, ranging from air conditioning to stereo settings, without hindrance. The interior is all piano black with Alcantara paired with leather upholstery and blue stitching. Front seats are bucket-style with lumbar support and are electronically adjustable.

Two wireless chargers are there with a streak of ambient lighting. A heads-up display is provided to avoid distractions. NFC-enabled entry through concealed door handles further amplifies the premium appeal. Also, the cabin has plenty of legroom and headspace, which makes it feel more spacious due to the massive panoramic roof.

BYD has entered the Pakistani market with the aim of making its EVs as common as owning a car. What happens next is unrevealed yet.
