The 2025 MG ZS HEV is expected to be launched today, August 28, 2024. It will mark a significant move for the Chinese automaker. Moreover, the company has already teased its upcoming next-generation best-seller on social media, giving us a sneak peek at what to expect in the upcoming generation.
Reports indicate that the company will first sell the vehicle in Australia, Europe, and the UK. Afterward, it will move to other parts of the world, including the Indian market. What To Expect From 2025 MG ZS ?
The teasers have revealed noticeable modifications in the exterior design. According to the images revealed on the internet, the car comprises a front aggressive panel or fascia that includes the grille, headlights, and bumper. It features a massive front bonnet, and the company’s logo shines over it. This new hybrid crossover SUV consists of a wider front grille with a chrome strip extending across its top.
Furthermore, the disclosure unveiled over the internet clearly shows the tail light and rear bumper design. Moving to the lightning, MG ZS HEV consists of projector headlights setup, paired with integrated LED DRLs.
The company has not disclosed the interior images yet. However, a spy was spotted in Sydney with a heavily camouflaged version of the ZS. Some major inside updates reported there are as follows.
- The new angular design of the steering wheel.
- The separated air vents are located above the infotainment system.
- A T-bar gear shifter.
- The car features a single-row button located on the center stack and another near the shifter.

Hybrid Powertrain Of MG ZS
The reports reveal that the MG ZS HEV will be sold as “MG ZS Hybrid+.” It will probably share its powertrain with the MG3 hatchback. It will consist of a 75kW petrol engine and a 100kW electric motor, resulting in a combined output power of 211hp, which will enhance the vehicle’s performance and speed.
In addition, the documents state the non-hybrid versions of this car including (naturally aspirated, turbocharged 1.5 liter engine) will have a CVT (Continuous Variable Automatic Transmission) power system.
The international market is selling this car under the name of MG ZS HEV instead of MG Astor. MG will launch the petrol version of this car in Australia during the fourth quarter of 2024 (October-December). The electric and hybrid variants will introduce in 2025.
