Today DJI officially announced the Avata 2 FPV drone, which is not only an improvement over its predecessor but also priced lower. The new drone features a Super Wide angle 12 MP camera with a 1/1.3″ sensor, providing better image quality, expanded dynamic range, and enhanced low-light performance. It offers a wide viewing angle of 155 degrees, HDR video at up to 4K 60fps, and slow-motion footage at 2.7K 120fps.
The Avata 2 now has five more degrees of gimbal tilt, a 23-minute maximum flight time, and supports PD fast charging. The new “Two-Way Charging Hub” can transfer power from multiple batteries to quickly recharge the one with the highest charge level in critical moments.
The drone offers a maximum video transmission distance of 13 km, with low latency, high-quality video transmission, and improved stability compared to the original model.
The new DJI Goggles 3 allow users to see real-time footage from the drone, share the live feed with others, and enjoy an immersive flying experience. The Goggles 3 also feature built-in battery, GPS, dual 1080p, micro-OLED displays, and a passthrough mode for monitoring surroundings while flying.
The Avata 2 has 46GB of internal storage, can store up to 90 minutes of 1080p 60fps video, and allows for easy sharing of recordings via Wi-Fi to a smartphone.
The DJI Avata 2 package with DJI Goggles 3 and DJI RC Motion 3 combo is priced at $999, while additional accessories such as extra batteries, Charging Hub, Remote Controller, and ND Filters are available at varying prices.
