We have been anticipating the release of the Pixel 8a and have a general idea of what to expect – including the Tensor G3 chip, 8 GB of RAM, 128/256 GB of storage, and a 120 Hz display with a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. The design will closely resemble the Pixel 8 and it is rumored to be priced slightly higher than the 7a.

Surprisingly, a leak may suggest that Google is closer to unveiling the 8a than anticipated. A Google Fi Wireless ad appears to feature the Pixel 8a prominently. The key observation is that the Porcelain phone does not have a mic hole in the same location as the Pixel 8 (between the cameras and the LED).

Is the Google Pixel 8a hiding in plain sight?

It is possible that the phone in the background is the Bay variant, as it does not have a glossy frame like the Pixel 8 Pro. This could mean that there are actually two Pixel 8a models on display.

On the other hand, it is also possible that we are seeing two Pixel 8 phones stacked together with one having its mic hole Photoshopped out. As always, it is important to approach this information with caution.

Special thanks for the tip!
