For the European market, vivo has unveiled the V40 SE 5G smartphone, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset in the lower-midrange category.
Equipped with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 1TB with microSD cards, the device boasts a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50 MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide, and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro lens. Selfies are handled by a 16 MP f/2.0 front camera.
The V40 SE 5G showcases a 6.67-inch 1080×2400 120 Hz AMOLED display with a 1,800-nit peak brightness (1,200 nits in High Brightness mode), an embedded optical fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 44W fast wired charging support (charger not included).
Running Android 14 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 14, the V40 SE 5G will be available in Crystal Black and Leather Purple color options, with the Leather Purple variant featuring a faux leather finish. Measurements vary between the versions, with the Crystal Black version measuring 163.17 x 75.81 x 7.79 mm and the Leather Purple version measuring 163.17 x 75.81 x 7.79 mm. Weight also differs, with the Crystal Black version weighing 185.5g and the Leather Purple version weighing 191g.

The vivo V40 SE 5G is currently listed on both vivo’s pan-European site and its local Austrian site, indicating its imminent availability in other European countries. Pricing details are yet to be revealed.
