Exynos has made a return to the flagship Galaxy S line after a year of absence. Recent reports suggested that all Galaxy S25 phones would exclusively use Exynos chips, but a new report from DigiTimes contradicts this claim.

According to the report, Samsung will stick to its two-pronged strategy of using both Qualcomm and Samsung chipsets – specifically the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Exynos 2500 in this case.

While details on the specific distribution of these chipsets are not provided, it is likely that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will continue to use Snapdragon exclusively, while the Galaxy S25 and S25+ models may vary depending on the region.

Previous rumors also suggested that the Galaxy Z foldable series would use only Snapdragon chips, but a different report hinted that the Galaxy Z Flip6 could potentially feature an Exynos 2400 chip. If this turns out to be true, it would mark the first time an Exynos chip is used in a foldable device. The unveiling of the Z Flip6, Z Fold6, and possible Ultra and FE models is expected to coincide with the Olympics.

If Samsung does decide to use the Exynos 2500 in its foldable devices, it would likely have enough confidence in this chipset to include it in at least the Galaxy S25 and S25+ models. The Exynos 2500 is expected to bring enhancements in optimization and power efficiency over the current 2400 chipset.

Additionally, there are rumored changes in store for the S25 series, including a larger display. Exciting developments are on the horizon for Samsung’s upcoming lineup.
