Last year, Google officially deviated from its usual “first Monday of the month” schedule for releasing Android updates. However, today, on the first Monday of a month, a new update is available.
The over-the-air rollout for all supported Pixel devices has begun, although Google’s rollouts are known for being slow. Therefore, it may take several days, if not longer, for all eligible Pixels to receive the notification.
After installation, global models will be on software version UQ1A.240205.002, except for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro which will get UQ1A.240205.004. Verizon models will receive UQ1A.240205.002.A1, except for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro which will have UQ1A.240205.004.A1. SoftBank Japan models will all get UQ1A.240205.002.B1, except for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro which will have UQ1A.240205.004.B1.
The update includes general improvements for system stability and performance, camera enhancements for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, a fix for display corruption under certain conditions for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, a fix for an issue with the outer display on the Pixel Fold, general improvements for Wi-Fi stability and performance on the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, and a fix for stability and performance issues with “certain third party apps” on all devices.
