Let’s get started: the Poco M6 Pro from Xiaomi left us a bit puzzled, and this isn’t the first time the company has done this. There’s already a Poco M6 Pro 5G that was announced back on August 5, 2023, but it’s only available in India and is a 5G device. And to make things even more confusing, the Indian Poco M6 Pro is essentially a rebranded Redmi 12 5G with a slightly different back design.
What we’re reviewing today is the new Poco M6 Pro for global markets, and it’s completely unrelated to either of the aforementioned phones. Its specifications are quite different and, in some aspects, more premium than the Indian version. For example, the global M6 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but it lacks 5G connectivity.

The global Poco M6 Pro also features an additional ultrawide camera in the rear, making it a total of three cameras. Additionally, it boasts fast 67W charging for its 5,000 mAh battery, and the fast charger is included in the box.
Unboxing
Let’s quickly talk about the retail package. The Poco M6 Pro comes in a bright yellow two-piece cardboard box similar to other Poco devices. There’s no plastic phone cradle inside, but the phone is well-protected and snug in the box.
The accessory package is quite extensive. You get a 67W Xiaomi fast charger along with a compatible USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable. It’s important to note that the cable is proprietary, so keep it safe to ensure maximum charging speed. Last but not least, the retail box for the Poco M6 Pro also includes a soft TPU case for immediate use.
