Following our hands-on experience with the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G, we decided to take a closer look at its two counterparts – the Camon 30 and Camon 30 5G. While the Premier is considered the high-end model, the other two share a similar design language and some features.

Tecno Camon 30 5G

The Tecno Camon 30 5G runs on the Dimensity 7020 chipset, featuring a 6nm architecture with two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.2GHz and six A55 cores at 2.0GHz. It boasts a PowerVR IMG B-series GPU and a 5G modem (sub-6GHz).

Although not as powerful as the Dimensity 8200 Ultra in the Premier, this model does offer next-generation connectivity.

The front of the phone showcases a large 6.78” AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,436px (non-LTPO panel). It houses a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and a dual-color temperature flash.

Turning to the back, we see the same chamfered area near the circular camera island, a design element shared across the entire Camon 30 family. This feature not only adds to the aesthetics but also enhances ergonomics, providing a natural grip when holding the phone horizontally.

The main camera on the back boasts a 50MP 1/1.57″ sensor with OIS, ideal for capturing night time portraits. However, there is no ultra-wide lens or telephoto lens included.

The Tecno Camon 30, a 4G model, is powered by the Helio G99 chipset. It comes with 12GB of RAM (and 12GB virtual), although it is not considered a high-performance device. The 6nm chipset includes two Cortex-A76 cores (2.2GHz) and six A55 cores (2.0GHz), along with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and a 4G modem.

The camera setup on the Camon 30 is similar to the 5G model, featuring a 50MP main rear camera with OIS and a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and flash. Additionally, the display is the same 6.78” 120Hz AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution.

Both the Camon 30 5G and 4G models share a 5,000mAh battery with 70W charging, as well as stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an IR blaster. These models are expected to launch in Q2 (April-June), along with the Premier.
