In a social media post, Atlas Honda proudly wrote: “Start 2025 with a spark! Introducing the all-new CG125 in striking blue – a powerful gift from Atlas Honda to our incredible riders!” We think there is another inspiration behind this new shade.

Atlas insists that Sonic the Hedgehog—the electric-blue blur from old Sega games—justifies the CG125’s new color. Apparently, if a cartoon can zip around collecting rings, then a commuter bike painted the same hue must possess similar speed. Why bother with engine tweaks or aerodynamic tests when a quick coat of Sonic’s shade solves everything?

How Atlas Turned CG From Red to Blue?

We were lucky enough to reverse engineer the process behind Atlas’s process of making the CG125 blue. For the first time in history, we’re leaking out to the public how the Atlas Honda designers created it:

If you pick the red color Honda CG 125 and slide the hue to 230, you’ll get the exact blue color and blue stickers of CG125.

Conclusion

Although this was a humorous piece, it points to a genuine frustration underlying the theatrical paint job and sticker swaps. Despite fanfare about a “new” CG125, the bike itself remains unchanged beneath the surface. Loyal riders might have hoped for genuine mechanical improvements—better engine performance, superior brakes, modern suspension, or any technological leap befitting current market standards. Instead, Atlas Honda seems content with a superficial facelift, banking on brand nostalgia rather than evolving the product.
