Just today, Yamaha introduced its all-new YBR 125 in a new golden color, “YBRG Metallic Yellow.” It seems like they are following in the footsteps of Atlas Honda. Here’s an exclusive comparison and opinion on CG Gold Edition vs YBR Metallic Yellow.

Here’s the price first:

  • CG125 Gold: Rs.292,000
  • YBR125G Metallic Yellow: Rs.485,000

After three decades, Atlas came up with the genius idea of introducing a special Gold edition with golden-colored stickers, side covers, and exhaust covers. The only hardware change in the CG Gold is the transparent indicators cover, while in the regular CG, the indicators cover was orange.

And for this change, Atlas will demand Rs.12,000 more than the regular self-start edition. We still don’t know what Atlas is trying to do, and it seems like an intern is handling their business and marketing strategies.

Just like Atlas, Yamaha is no exception. They also decided to follow the exact footprints of CG Gold Edition. Eight years after launch, Yamaha decided to add a new color to the lineup in the name of innovation so people know that YBR isn’t dead.

It looks like a golden color, but to avoid becoming Atlas’s copycat, they named it “Metallic Yellow.” Fortunately, they’ve not increased the price, and the metallic yellow color is still Rs. 3,000 cheaper than the grey color variant.

Here’s the 1-1 comparison of both bikes:
