Punjab Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Department has introduced a new convenient service for the residents of Punjab. Previously, the department had announced virtual vehicle registration for vehicle owners. According to a social media post by the department, citizens who have registered their vehicles but have not yet received the cards can now visit the department’s website and obtain a digital card by entering their registration and chassis number on this link.
Once the card is obtained, owners can download and save it on their mobile phones. The department also tweeted about the introduction of Punjab’s first e-title document, the E-Registration Card.
Doorstep Service
Additionally, the department is offering doorstep service for vehicle owners through an app called “Dehliz,” available on the department’s website and soon to be available on the Google App Store. At present, this service is only available in Lahore as a pilot project, but will eventually expand to other cities.
Now, Excise services come to your doorstep. Click on the link to download the Dehliz app now and access Excise services on your doorstep. https://t.co/zTKGD0fxL1 Currently, the service is only available in Lahore and will soon start in other districts. pic.twitter.com/NuI8mIyebW

Elaborating on the service’s functionality, a senior official from the Excise department mentioned that citizens can schedule appointments for various services such as new registration and transfer. After the appointment, a department rider will visit the individual’s home, collect the necessary documents, issue PSID, facilitate online fee payment, and take biometric information before handing over the registration file on the spot. In certain cases, such as with imported or auctioned vehicles, the rider will return the file to the office and complete the process.
This app and initiative are likely to benefit citizens who find the registration and transfer process cumbersome or lack the time to visit the Excise office. These services will also contribute to an increase in the number of registered cars in the province, bringing them into legal compliance.
