Motorola has introduced the Motorola Edge 50 Pro at a grand event in New Delhi, India, showcasing Black Beauty, Luxe Lavender, and Moonlight Pearl color options. Our initial experience with the lavender version left us with these first impressions of the device.

Arriving in an eco-friendly retail package made of 80% recycled materials, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro includes essential accessories like a charging cable, SIM ejector tool, “climate-friendly” protective case, and power adapter.

To enhance the unboxing experience, Motorola has included a “Moto Fragrance” in the box for a unique sensorial connection. The smartphone comes with a fragrant aroma that adds a touch of sensory pleasure, although it may fade over time.

The device boasts a 6.7″ 144Hz 10-bit curved pOLED display with a Pantone Validated True Color Display, offering 2,000 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ support for accurate color rendering.

With Gorilla Glass protection, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro’s screen features a centered punch-hole housing the 50 MP selfie camera. The device also includes a fast and accurate fingerprint scanner placed under the display, though some users may find it a bit small.

The rear of the device showcases a 50MP “AI Powered Pro-Grade Camera” alongside a 10MP telephoto camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera, housed within a squircle-shaped island. The cameras support AI-based features and deliver impressive imaging capabilities.

Each color variant of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro offers a distinct design, with the Moonlight Pearl model featuring a unique rear cover designed by Mazzucchelli 1849. The Luxe Lavender and Black Beauty models sport silicone vegan leather covers for a comfortable grip.

The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC with 8 GB/12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, running on Android 14 with Hello UI on top. Motorola promises three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, with quarterly updates.
