Last week, Lava introduced the latest addition to the Blaze lineup, the Lava Blaze Curve. We had the opportunity to test the Iron Glass version of the phone, and here are our initial thoughts.

When you open the black retail box of the Lava Blaze Curve, you will find a protective cover, charging cable, 33W adapter, USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter, and SIM ejector tool. The picture on the box may not match the actual color of the phone you are purchasing.

The Lava Blaze Curve features a 6.67″ 3D curved AMOLED screen with FullHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits peak brightness. The ambient light sensor of the smartphone may be slow to adjust screen brightness. However, the panel supports 16.7 million colors and has HDR10+ and Widevine L1 certifications.

Protected by Dragontrail Star 2 glass, the display also features a centered punch hole for the 32MP selfie camera. The positioning of the camera inside the hole may not be perfect, but it’s not noticeable unless you’re looking very closely.

Additionally, the screen includes a fingerprint reader for biometric authentication. The reader is fast and accurate but could have been placed slightly higher for easier access.

On the back, the Lava Blaze Curve houses a triple camera setup with 64MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro lenses. The primary camera uses a Sony sensor, supports EIS, and has an f/1.9 aperture.

The back panel of the Lava Blaze Curve has a simple design and comes in different color options. The Iron Glass version we tested may not be as attractive as the green Viridian Glass model, but it offers a formal and stealthy look. The curved edges of the back cover make the phone comfortable to hold. Overall, the design and build quality give the Lava Blaze Curve a premium feel.

It’s important to note that the protruding cameras on the back may cause the Lava Blaze Curve to wobble on flat surfaces and make cleaning dust between them a bit challenging.

Lava has committed to providing three years of quarterly security updates for the Blaze Curve, with plans for Android 14 and Android 15 upgrades. We would have preferred to see the phone launching with Android 14 considering the timing, but hopefully, Lava will release the update soon.

The Lava Blaze Curve is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging support, capable of charging from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes and to 100% in 80 minutes. Other highlights of the phone include Dolby Atmos support and 5G compatibility on both SIM slots.
