According to a post by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming iQOO Z9 series will feature an OLED panel.

Since its launch in mid-2020, the mid-range Z line of the iQOO brand has been using LCD panels. However, they switched to OLED for the iQOO Z7 series before reverting to LCD for the Z8 family.

The new phones will also have an improved 1220p resolution, commonly referred to as “1.5K” by Chinese makers as it falls between Full HD and QHD (1440p).

The release cycle for an iQOO Z series smartphone is approximately six months, suggesting that the iQOO Z9 could feature its new display by the end of February.
