After 1.5 years of global launch, the 4th generation facelift Kia Carnival has finally come to Pakistan. Globally, it was introduced in mid-2023 and now it has arrived in Pakistan, but in a CBU version. The vehicle is priced at PKR 17,000,000 (Ex-factory) and retains its 11-seat layout, qualifying it as a commercial vehicle to benefit from reduced customs duties.
The facelifted Carnival also uses the same 3.5-liter V6 engine, 272 horsepower and 331 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The vehicle uses a suite of advanced safety and convenience features. Among its highlights are the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include forward collision avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot collision avoidance assist.
Inside, there’s no major change, just the design of AC grills, dashboard and center console got a new look, it’s mostly a design upgrade, we don’t have the new add-ons list right now, waiting for the details from Kia’s official. Bookings and Tax Details
Bookings for the Carnival Executive are now open at Kia dealerships nationwide. The starting price of this car is about 1.75 crore, which is introductory price that may go up after some time.
Fortunately enough, the Carnival is one of the most tax efficient CBU cars you can buy in Pakistan. Kia is smart, they’ve put the Carnival under the commercial transport vehicle category so it gets only 12% tax on the invoice price for filers and for non-filers, it’ll be 36%.
Seems like they took the benefit of passenger capacity in FBR’s policy which is any vehicle that contains more than 10 passengers capacity and is combustion vehicle, can fall under the category of commercial vehicle, and hence Carnival is one of the lowest taxed cars in the brand new car market.
