At first glance, this EV looks like it came straight out of the game Cyberpunk2077 or the movie Blade Runner 2049 because its exterior, with its angular cuts, flashy-looking LEDs, boxy shape aggressive stylings, and Trasnformers-style rims, is exactly how you define a futuristic modern EV car.
One thing we can say for sure is if you drive it on the streets of Pakistan, it’s sure to turn heads. It’s because, on the roads where there are average cars like Corolla, Alto, Cultus, City, and WagonR, this futuristic ride will stand out like a time traveler’s car from 2050.
Sitting inside, it’s all premium to touch feel, but it’s mainly plastic on the doors, which we think is not good for a car that will cost 1.5 crore PKR. Other than that, it’s good and sof to touch premium material all over the dashboard and seats.
And just like any other modern EV, you will also notice two gigantic screens that look more like portable cinemas that play Netflix and YouTube in nice 4K resolution.
The seats are also nice and made of PU leather + all those premium things like heating and electric adjustments, but we don’t know exactly why the seats extend to the center console. You can’t make a kid sit there, nor can it work as a center console; don’t know its purpose. Hopefully, Kia Pakistan will replace it with a center console in the PKDM variant.
One good thing is that the touch buttons and even the screen use the same iPhone-like haptics that let you know when you’ve hit the icon you were aiming for during the drive, so you don’t need to take your eyes off the road.
Kia EV5 Worldwide and Pakistan Launch
So far, this car has only been launched in China. Although it is not yet available for sale in the U.S. or Australian markets, internet reviewers say that that it may be launched in Australia by the end of 2024
Pakistan will also soon get this vehicle, maybe in early 2025 or December 2024, but December might be too early; our projected launch date for this EV5 in the Pakistani market is the start of 2025.
