Lahore, a city grappling with escalating traffic congestion, has taken a significant step towards improving its urban mobility. The city authorities have recently launched six new traffic management sectors strategically placed across the city.
This initiative aims to address the chronic traffic congestion that plagues many areas, leading to delays and frustration for commuters. The newly established sectors are located in the Sadar Division and Cantt Division, each focusing on specific areas with notorious traffic challenges.

Furthermore, the Bhobatian Traffic Sector will manage Bhobatian Kachhi Kothi Cut, Bhobatian Chowk, and Raiwind Road, encompassing areas like Qazzalbash Chowk, Khayaban Chowk, and Dubai Chowk.
Other significant points included under this new traffic system are the Mosque U-Turn on Motorway Abdul Sattar Edhi Road, OPF U-Turn, LDA Society, Jubilee Town Society, Bhobatian Chowk, Mohlanwal Slip on Multan Road, Shaam Chowk, and Shahkam Chowk to Bahria Town, ending at the Ring Road bridge.
The implementation of these traffic sectors is expected to yield several benefits:
- Reduced Congestion: By focusing on specific areas and implementing targeted traffic management strategies, the sectors aim to significantly reduce traffic congestion.
- Improved Traffic Flow: Streamlined traffic flow will lead to shorter travel times and reduced fuel consumption.
- Enhanced Road Safety: Improved traffic management can contribute to a safer driving environment by minimizing the risk of accidents.

The introduction of these traffic sectors represents a proactive approach by the Lahore authorities to tackle the city’s growing traffic challenges. If implemented effectively, these measures can significantly improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
