Oppo introduced the Find X7 Ultra at the beginning of 2024 featuring the first dual-periscope camera and the promise of a satellite communication version. After three months, the company has finally fulfilled that promise, and this version is now available on China Telecom’s website.

The listing from the carrier unveiled a new model number, increased storage capacity, and a higher price tag due to the additional features.

Oppo Find X7 Ultra review

The smartphone with model number PHY120 will come with 1 TB of storage – double the capacity of the current top variant in the Chinese market. The new Find X7 Ultra iteration will be priced at CNY7,999 (over $1,100), reflecting a 15% increase compared to the current pricing for the 16/512 GB option without satellite communication.

Satellite communication enables direct connectivity for calls and messages to a satellite orbiting the Earth, bypassing the need for a cellular phone to connect to a cell tower and then to a communications hub linked to satellites.

Oppo is finally launching Find X7 Ultra with satellite communication

Oppo does not have plans to release the Find X7 Ultra outside of China, but the next generation of the Find series will be made available internationally.

The official release date for the Find X7 Ultra with satellite communication has not been disclosed. It is anticipated to be announced on March 29 during an event hosted by Oppo in China.
