During the autumn season, Xiaomi releases new “T” models – premium devices that are slightly below the flagship level. Last year saw the introduction of the 13T and 13T Pro, and this year we can expect the arrival of the 14T and 14T Pro.
A recent leak has provided some insights into these upcoming devices. Let’s begin with the Pro model, which is rumored to be based on the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra for the Chinese market. However, the 14T Pro will feature enhancements compared to its base model, rather than being a straightforward rebrand.
Xiaomi 13T Pro and 13T from 2023
Both the Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. The Pro variant will introduce wireless charging for the first time in the T series, along with a telephoto camera – features that are absent in the K70 Ultra (which opts for a macro camera instead). Additionally, the 14T Pro will continue to carry Leica co-branding, while its Redmi counterpart will forego this to maintain a lower price point.
The Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro will be available in Europe, Japan, and other markets, excluding India, as has been the tradition for the T series. Softbank will be the distributor for these devices in Japan.
The Xiaomi 14T is expected to utilize a Dimensity 8000 series SoC, following the approach of the 13T. The main difference between it and the 13T Pro is likely to be in charging speed, with the Pro model featuring 120W while the regular 14T may settle for 67W. It wouldn’t be surprising if the 14T also excludes wireless charging to differentiate the Pro model.
