This year, Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS 2024) will be a hallmark of elegance and technology on wheels, showcasing several vehicles anticipated to be launched in Pakistan in the near or far future. Last week, in our blog, we informed you that Kia Lucky Motors is all set to unveil its first electric car, most probably an EV5 or EV6, at PAPS, scheduled for October 25, 2024.

In a recent update, MG Pakistan also posted a teaser image featuring the MG HS plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). According to the details, the company is gearing up to introduce the CKD variant of this car at the Pakistan Auto Show 2024.

MG Motor has started stretching its HS lineup with the introduction of the HS PHEV. This new hybrid variant marks MG’s entry into the growing electric vehicle market in Pakistan.

The local car maker has not disclosed its details. However, here are the international features and specifications of the vehicle.

Dimensions

The car will be 4574 mm long, 1876 mm wide and 1685 mm high with wheelbase of 2720 mm.

Engine & Power

The HS PHEV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor, delivering a total power output of 160 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Moreover, it is powered by a 16.6 kWh battery providing a range of 52 km, whilst generating 120 hp and 230 Nm of torque on its own.

The vehicle complies with Euro 5 emission standards and offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 58 km/litre. However, actual fuel consumption may vary based on driving conditions and habits.

The HS PHEV retains the stylish and modern design of the existing MG HS model, with minor updates to differentiate it from the gasoline-only version.

Exterior

Up front, the car is equipped with projector LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and halogen fog lamps. It also features sequential front and rear turn signals, along with LED rear lights for a modern look.

Interior

Coming inside the car, you’ll be welcomed by an electric power steering system and a panoramic sunroof. It boasts a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, a push-start button, a power tailgate, and a smart key. The cabin is packed with modern tech for a premium feel. For the driver’s comfort, the 6-way electrically adjustable seat ensures a comfortable and effortless driving experience.
