Today, there have been reports in the media suggesting that Chery Pakistan is preparing to debut two cars in the country in 2024. According to these reports, the two cars in question are the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J7 PHEV, which will be introduced into the local market under the Chery brand. In response to this, we sought out more information on the topic.

What Vehicles Are on the Way?

According to our sources, while the exact number of cars has not been confirmed, Chery Pakistan is set to bring Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) to the market. “The car assembler plans to launch HEV and PHEVs from the Tiggo Series,” our reliable sources informed us. Additionally, the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J7, an electric and PHEV vehicle, respectively, will also be introduced in Pakistan.

Expected Launch Time

Our sources indicate that the company will be rolling out these new vehicles in the 3rd quarter of this year. “The Tiggo series cars will be launched first, followed by the other two,” our sources stated, confirming that the company is ready for these launches.

This means that the local market will see more HEV and PHEV options this year, which is beneficial for local consumers given the high fuel prices. Previously, Pakistan has seen hybrid cars from Haval, Hyundai, and Toyota with H6, Santa Fe, and Corolla Cross. These cars have been well-received by consumers due to their fuel efficiency. The future of the automotive industry is leaning towards electric and hybrid vehicles as several companies plan to introduce more EVs, while auto giants like Toyota are focusing on hybrid technology.

The Pakistani market has and will continue to receive both types of vehicles, and it will ultimately depend on individual preference as to which type they prefer. Hopefully, the planned launches by Chery will be successful and offer more options to local customers.
