The future of the automotive industry in Pakistan remains uncertain. Local car manufacturers are facing production shutdowns due to insufficient inventory, while others are introducing attractive deals to attract customers and maintain their monthly sales. High prices and decreased purchasing power are the main factors contributing to the decline in sales.

In terms of sales, Pakistan Suzuki Motors Company (PSMC) has experienced a significant decline in the past few months. To combat this sales crisis, the company has introduced appealing offers for popular models like Alto, Swift, and Wagon R.

The Promotions

For ‘Suzuki Alto’ and ‘Swift,’ Pak Suzuki is offering a saving opportunity of up to Rs. 900,000 through Habib Metro Auto Finance at a fixed interest rate of 17%. The company’s announcement stated:

“Make your car dreams come true and save up to Rs. 900,000 with Habib Metro Auto Finance at a fixed rate of 17%. Don’t wait any longer, get behind the wheel of your dream car.”

Additionally, for the Wagon R, Pak Suzuki has announced a dual offer – a ‘Purchase Bonus’ of Rs. 100,000 and an ‘Exchange Bonus’ of Rs. 200,000.

By introducing these promotions, Pak Suzuki appears to be trying to mitigate the impact of the recent price hike.

Pak Suzuki’s Price Increase

Pak Suzuki has raised car prices for the first time in 2024. However, the company has not provided a reason for this recent hike in its announcement. The new prices will be effective from March 1, 2024.

Following the price increase, Alto VX will now be priced at Rs. 2,331,000 compared to the previous Rs. 2,251,000. Similarly, the new price for Alto VXR will be Rs. 2,707,000 instead of Rs. 2,612,000.

The base model, Cultus VXR, has seen a price increase of Rs. 140,000, now priced at Rs. 3,858,000 compared to the previous Rs. 3,718,000. Similarly, Cultus VXL will now cost Rs. 4,244,000 instead of Rs. 4,084,000.
