The Honda Amaze is a compact sedan known for its association with the Honda City and Elevate models. It offers affordable fuel efficiency and competitive features, making it a popular choice. In a time where many consumers are leaning towards SUVs over sedans and hatchbacks, the Honda Amaze provides a refreshing option in the Japanese automaker’s lineup.

History of Honda Amaze

Originally launched in 2013 as the Honda Brio Amaze, this model was introduced to complement the Honda City and Elevate. It was designed specifically for the Indian market to take advantage of lower excise duty on cars under 4 meters. The second-generation Amaze was unveiled in 2018 with significant enhancements, followed by a 2021 facelift. The upcoming generation of Honda Amaze is expected to debut later this year with major updates to its exterior and interior.

Compact Design

While the previous Amaze shared a platform with the Honda City and Elevate, the next-generation model will be redesigned to fit within 4 meters. The current City has a wheelbase of 2,600mm, Elevate has 2,650mm, and the Amaze’s wheelbase of 2,470mm will be further reduced in the new version.

Engine Specifications

The upcoming Honda Amaze is likely to retain the 1.2-liter natural combustion engine from the current model. It currently offers a choice of 5-speed manual or 7-speed CVT transmission, producing 89bhp and 110Nm of torque.

Interior Upgrades

While details on interior changes are scarce, we can expect enhancements like modified LED headlamps, an upgraded infotainment system, premium upholstery, and advanced ADAS features. The new Honda Amaze is anticipated to hit Indian roads in mid- or late 2024, coinciding with the Diwali festival season.
