An unidentified source from China leaked details of an upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen system-on-chip earlier this month, providing some key specifications. The chip is identified by the model number SM8635, but its official marketing name is still unknown, though it is expected to be either Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite or Snapdragon 8s Gen 2. Its performance is anticipated to fall between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Recently, an unidentified Realme smartphone with the model number RMX3851 surfaced in the Geekbench database, powered by the same SM8635 chipset. Unfortunately, the marketing name for this model number has not been disclosed.
Although the marketing name is still unknown, the specifications of the SoC appear to match the leaked details. It features an octa-core CPU with 1x Cortex-X4 @3.01 GHz, along with a cluster of four cores running at 2.61 GHz and three energy-efficient cores ticking at 1.84 GHz. Additionally, the GPU is Adreno 735, and the chipset is expected to be based on a 4nm node.
The listing also indicates that the Realme phone will come with Android 14 pre-installed and 16GB of RAM.
It is important to note that the benchmark score may not be reliable as pre-production units often have lower performance before their official release. We will continue to monitor for additional details about the Realme phone and Qualcomm’s upcoming chip.
