Recent speculation from a source on X (formerly Twitter) delivers unfortunate news for those who aren’t fans of Samsung’s Exynos chipsets. The rumor suggests that Samsung is aiming for the entire Galaxy S25 series to incorporate its Exynos SoCs, likely the upcoming Exynos 2500.
This would apply to all models in every country. On the flip side, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 are expected to utilize Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets (possibly the 8 Gen 4), while the Galaxy A series will feature a mix of MediaTek and Samsung SoCs in 2025.
So currently 2025 Samsung phones will be :
Galaxy Z – Snapdragon Only
Galaxy S – Exynos Only
Galaxy A – Mediatek & Exynos— Connor / 코너 / コナー (@OreXda) March 1, 2024
Since these devices are still far from launch, it’s advisable to take this information with a grain of salt, especially since it hasn’t been corroborated by any other sources, whether official or rumor-based.
Even if these rumors are true, the performance capabilities of the Exynos 2500 remain unknown. It’s possible that it might outperform the Snapdragon 8 series, but in the mobile industry, unexpected outcomes are not uncommon, so it’s best not to dismiss the possibility entirely.
However, the decision to use Snapdragon chipsets for foldable devices is puzzling. The reasoning behind this strategy may not be clear, similar to the current Exynos-Snapdragon split in the Galaxy S24 lineup.
