Ahead of its release in Q2 of this year (April-June), Tecno unveiled the Camon 30 Premier 5G. The announcement highlighted various features, including the innovative Tecno PolarAce Imaging System.
This system revolves around a Sony chip called CXD5622GG, which is not a sensor but an ISP. It boasts a rating of 4.6 TFLOPS at FP16 (16-bit floating point), surpassing the capabilities of the phone’s chipset (Dimensity 8200 Ultra) and claiming to be more energy-efficient as well.

This computational power is utilized for tasks like full-scene AI noise reduction for HDR videos, 4K Ultra Night Vision videos, and rendering accurate skin tones with the company’s Universal Tone. The AIGC Portrait mode allows for modifications to portrait shots, including adding formal clothes or removing unwanted objects with the AI One Click Eraser.

The Tecno Camon Premier 5G will feature a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS and a periscope with a 50MP sensor for zoom, portrait photos, and macro shots. The phone’s design mimics rangefinder cameras, with a circular camera island resembling a zoom ring.

On the front, the phone boasts a 6.77″ OLED display with 1,264 x 2,780px resolution and 1,400 nits peak brightness. It utilizes an LTPO panel, with a 50MP selfie camera featuring an autofocus lens.

The phone includes a metal mid-frame for rigidity and a premium feel, along with an intriguing “Action Dot” on the back for notifications. It runs on a 5,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging via USB-C, and offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an IR blaster, and FM radio receiver, as well as stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.
Powered by the Dimensity 8200 Ultra and running Android 14 out of the box, the Tecno Camon 30 Premier features up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB storage.
The Tecno Camon 30 series, including the Premier and three other models, is set to launch in Q2 of this year.
