Following the release of the hybrid model, Indus Motor Company (IMC) has introduced the petrol version of its crossover SUV, the Corolla Cross. The non-hybrid model is available in two variants: 1.8x and 1.8. This new release comes as a delightful surprise, considering that IMC had previously launched the locally assembled hybrid Corolla Cross in Pakistan in December 2023, following the sale of CBU units.

Here are the key specifications and features of both variants of the new non-hybrid Corolla Cross:

Dimensions 

Similar to the hybrid model, the petrol version maintains the same dimensions: 4460mm length, 1825mm width, and 1620mm height. It also has a wheelbase of 2640mm and a ground clearance of 161mm, indicating no changes in the new model’s dimensions.

Engine and Transmission 

The new model is equipped with a 2ZR-FE 1798cc gasoline engine, delivering 138hp at 6400 RPMs and 172 Nm of torque at 4,000 RPMs, paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Exterior 

The vehicle features 17-inch alloy rims with 215/60/R17 tires. The X variant comes with Bi-Beam LED headlights, while the base variant has Halogen headlights, both offering DRLs, Auto Light System, and Follow Me Home option. Additionally, the top variant includes LED fog lamps, a feature not present in the base model.

Both variants include Electric + Auto + Side + Side Turn Signal side view mirrors, along with body-colored door handles. The front grille of the 1.8x variant is painted black, contrasting with the material black of the 1.8 variant. The top model also boasts black roof rails, a feature absent in the base model.

Both variants come with a shark fin antenna, day and night inside rearview mirror, and back monitor.

Interior 

The top variant offers dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, while the base variant has single-zone climate control with no rear AC vents. Both models feature a 4.2-inch color Multi Info Display (MID), push start, smart entry options, and EPS tilt + telescope steering. The top variant boasts a 3-spoke leather steering wheel, unlike the 3-spoke urethane steering in the base model.

The top variant’s steering includes switches for MID + audio + telephone + voice control + cruise control, a feature absent in the base model. The top model also includes a moonroof, a feature not present in the base variant.

The 1.8x variant features a 9-inch capacitive display for the infotainment system, whereas the second variant offers a 7-inch capacitive display. Both include Bluetooth, USB, MIC, WIFI Ready, Wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto Support, along with WIFI pairing and a rear camera display.

The top variant’s seats are upholstered in leather, while the base model features fabric seats. Both variants have powered driver seats with manual passenger seats and manual driver and passenger recline. The windows in both models are one-touch, all up and down.

Safety Features 

Both variants come equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) + Emergency Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) + Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Brake Signal, Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Start Assist, 7 airbags, immobilizer, ISOFIX Child Support Anchor, and Occupant Seat Sensor.

Colors 

The petrol model is available in Red Mica Metallic, Super White, Attitude Black, Celestite Grey, Dark Blue Mica Metallic, and Metal Stream Metallic.
