This OKLA OKT electric scooter is a real money-saver. It stands out for its contribution to reducing smog, its ZERO Pollution Emissions, and its design that fits the modern lifestyle. Read on to learn more about this OKLA OKT.

Looks & Features

The OKLA scooter has a basic and decent design. Available in red, white, and black, the black variant stands out with a sleek and minimalistic look. The LED headlights are pretty powerful, offering excellent road visibility, though the high beam position could be adjusted from their service center. The scooter comes with shock absorbers with the OKLA branding.

The scooter is equipped with a front disc brake that delivers strong braking performance, paired with 12-inch alloy rims. In terms of storage, the scooter offers two compartments on the sides of the handlebar—one small on the right side and a bit larger one on the left for essentials. There’s also an under-seat compartment that’s spacious enough to hold your helmet and more. The storage compartment is unlocked with the key, and it turns left without pushing.

The scooter has a 72V 5A charger that charges it in 6-7 hours. Additionally, a main switch is available under your seat in the 3rd storage area for electrical emergencies or in case any other switches are not working. You can use this feature by simply opening the seat.

Instrument Cluster & Modes

When you start the scooter, the instrument cluster lights up with a small LED animation before it displays essential information such as speed, battery cells, and the “P” mode. The “P” button is used to park the scooter, and it automatically turns off when the stand is lifted. The odometer shows the current distance traveled, and once the scooter is turned off, it will display the total kilometers covered.

The cluster only shows the battery cells. However, it can be more valuable if it shows how much it can run in this battery and the battery percentage, which could help ease range anxiety—something often found in entry-level electric scooters. OKLA’s Higher-end variants do have better displays, showing range and percentage, and we hope that OKLA will incorporate this feature for this model in the future.

On the right side of the instrument cluster, you can switch between three modes, which are essentially gears:

  • Mode 1: The slowest speed at 25 km/h
  • Mode 2: Moderate speed at 35 km/h
  • Mode 3: Fastest speed, with a tested top speed of 52 km/h, though the company claims it can reach 50 km/h.

The shiny panels on the scooter are well-designed with OKLA branding, and the brake lights, integrated with indicators are pretty beautiful.

Battery & Range

The range is often a concern for electric vehicles, and OKLA claims a range of 100 km on a full charge. Running the scooter in the slowest mode (25 km/h) can extend this to around 110 km, making it the perfect option for those who don’t need top speed, especially female riders.

The scooter is equipped with a graphene battery that takes 6-7 hours to charge fully. For a rough estimate, if you use the scooter for daily commutes (20 km per day), you can expect it to last up to 3 days on a full charge when riding at maximum speed.

With a 1kW motor and peak power of 2500W, the scooter can maintain a speed of 50 km/h without slowing down, even with the recommended load of 150 kg. This means the scooter will handle inclines and high speeds just as efficiently.

Ride Quality & Handling

During the test ride, the scooter performed smoothly on straight roads, but the small tire size caused the shock absorption to be a bit lacking on bumpy surfaces. While it’s equipped with both front and rear shock absorbers, the ride could feel a bit bumpy compared to larger bikes. The torque is impressive for this type of scooter, offering responsive acceleration.

The seat is incredibly comfortable, wrapped in leather, and offers good support for both the rider and the passenger. However, the footrest position could be improved. One of the main concerns with this scooter was the anxiety associated with riding it at higher speeds, especially on highways where overtaking could feel nerve-wracking. However, as you’ll be used to, scooter riders know the scooter’s limits and can drive confidently without stress.

Both front and rear brakes are practical, providing solid headlights. The headlight’s high beam is slightly limited in range, but it is adjustable, and you can use OKLA’s service at OKLA’s service centers. There is also a slight wobble in the handlebar, which can be corrected by adjusting it from there, too. Although it’s a test model.

Verdict

The OKLA electric scooter is a well-rounded option for urban commutes, especially for females who need a reliable and efficient ride. The price of Rs. 239,000 makes it a good choice compared to other scooters in its category. While the black and white models are more decent, the red color is too attractive and is not mostly preferred.

It is a solid choice for female city drives, offering comfort, decent speed, and a great range. With after-sales service available, including mobile services for repairs, it’s a hassle-free option for anyone looking for an electric scooter.
