The Nord CE series is a popular lineup within the OnePlus family, with each generation focusing on specific upgrades to cater to budget-conscious consumers. The CE3 introduced a larger, high-quality display, a faster and larger battery, an improved main camera sensor, and a faster chipset, albeit an older Snapdragon 782G (6nm) chipset.

The key enhancement that the OnePlus Nord CE4 offers is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. This new chip boasts a significantly better GPU compared to its predecessor, doubling the performance of the old 782G GPU. Manufactured on a more modern 4nm node, it is also more energy-efficient thanks to the new CPU cores.

Paired with 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4X), the chipset on the CE4 does not offer a 12GB option like its predecessor. Storage options include 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1, expandable via the microSD slot for up to 1TB cards. The device runs on OxygenOS 14 and features an additional 8GB of virtual RAM as a feature.

The Nord CE4 increases efficiency by introducing a larger battery – matching the 12R by having a 5,500mAh capacity and utilizing 100W SuperVOOC charging. Despite needing to charge 500mAh more than the CE3, the CE4 can fully charge in 29 minutes compared to the previous model’s 31 minutes. The Battery Health Engine extends the battery life to 4 years of charging cycles, and the 100W SuperVOOC charger comes included in the box.

Another upgrade on the CE3 was the 50MP main camera with a large 1/1.56” IMX890 sensor. The CE4 switches to a Sony LYT-600 sensor with the same resolution but a slightly smaller size at 1/1.95”. The 8MP ultra-wide module still uses the IMX355 sensor.

Running on OxygenOS 14 (Android 14) out of the box, the OnePlus Nord CE4 is promised to receive two major OS updates and three years of security patches. This matches the update policy of the CE3.

The phone sports a 6.7” OLED display similar to its predecessor, with an FHD+ resolution and a slightly taller than 20:9 aspect ratio. The display operates at 120Hz, supports 10-bit colors, and features HDR10+ and Amazon Prime Video HDR support.

The device comes with internal cushioning for drops up to 1.5m (5ft) onto marble and is officially rated IP54 for dust and water resistance. The display also supports touch detection when wet, a feature borrowed from the OnePlus 12 series known as Aqua Touch.

The CE4 is available in two color options – Dark Chrome with a glossy gray metal-like finish and Celadon Marble in a jade green color with a marble-like texture.
