The e-Khidmat Markaz at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) is working to digitize administrative processes in the capital city by offering online driving test services as part of the ongoing digital drive for driving licenses.

In collaboration with the Punjab Traffic Police and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the goal is to improve the effectiveness of driving licenses throughout the province.

The introduction of the driving test service at the e-Khidmat Centre ASTP is the first step in a broader strategy to expand this service to all e-Khidmat Marakiz across the province. A crucial meeting session laid the groundwork for the seamless integration of the online driving test service into the existing framework.

Building on previous online facilities, the interim government of Punjab has already simplified the process of acquiring a driving license, allowing citizens to renew their novice permits from the comfort of their homes.

Additionally, the Lahore Traffic Police confirmed that these online conveniences could potentially reduce overcrowding at Facilitation Centres by an impressive 90%.

Driving License Fee Increase

Embracing digitalization further, the provincial authorities recently formalized increased fees for obtaining a driving license. The Lahore Traffic Police shared that individuals can now secure their car and motorcycle learner’s permits for Rs. 500, valid for up to five years.

Online Enrollment

To better serve the people, the traffic police launched an online service to simplify and streamline the licensing process, considering the surge in the number of people applying for licenses in the region.

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi spearheaded the launch of this online facility on a significant Sunday. Citizens can now conveniently apply for their learner’s licenses through the Punjab Police app or at any of the 737 police stations and Khidmat Marakiz scattered across the province.
