China Mobile has officially launched 5G-Advanced, also known as 5.5G or 5GA. The Oppo Find X7 Ultra is the first phone to support this new networking standard, as teased by Pete Lau, the Chief Product Officer at Oppo.
The Oppo Find X7 series is the first with 5.5G support
Weibo posts indicate that the Oppo Find X7 will also be updated to support 5.5G, despite having different chipsets than the Ultra model. This makes the Find X7 series the first phones to offer 5.5G connectivity.
China Mobile plans to have over 20 compatible devices within a year and aims to cover over 300 cities with the new network by the end of the year, including major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
The 5G-Advanced network promises speeds up to 10Gbps down and 1Gbps up, which is 300% faster than current speeds. China Mobile has set up demonstration areas for users to experience the faster network with devices like the Find X7.
