Customized vehicles have become increasingly popular due to rising prices of new and imported cars. In the early 2000s, the Daihatsu Cuore was a beloved family hatchback known for its exceptional fuel efficiency and performance. We take a closer look at a modified Cuore owned by Ahmed in this project car review.

Daihatsu Cuore – Overview

Ahmed purchased a 2004 Cuore for 4 lakh rupees and decided to transform it into a new version resembling the Mira, another model from Daihatsu. Despite facing challenges during the extensive modifications, the project turned out to be a success.

Modification Details

Using the Daihatsu Mira as a reference, Ahmed upgraded the Cuore by replacing its engine with a 660CC Mira engine. He also made changes to the suspensions, brake pads, transmission (manual to automatic), and added features like Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), airbags, power windows, and a digital speedometer.

The interior of the car was completely revamped with parts from the Mira Sports edition, including the dashboard, bucket seats, glass holders, and air conditioner. Additionally, the exhaust system was upgraded to a stainless-steel catalytic converter for environmental benefits.

Fuel Average and Maintenance

Maintaining a Daihatsu is typically affordable. Ahmed mentioned using German lubricants and changing the oil every 8,000 kilometers for 8,500 rupees. The modified car currently achieves an average fuel consumption of 15 to 16km/l without the air conditioner, with a top speed of 130km/hr.

Project Cost

While buying a Cuore for 4 lakh rupees and spending 11 to 12 lakhs on modifications may seem like a risky endeavor, the improved performance, smooth drive, and impressive fuel economy justify the investment.
