The latest flagship trio from Samsung, the Galaxy S24 series, was unveiled this week at the unpacked event. One of the standout features of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the redesign of the long telephoto lens. Instead of a fixed 10x lens, it now features 5x magnification and a high resolution 50MP sensor that offers high-quality zoom between 5x and 10x. Additionally, it supports 8K video recording and 4K @ 120fps from the tele camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S24+, priced at £250 less than the Ultra, offers the same RAM (12GB) as the Ultra and features a flat 6.7” LTPO display with QHD+ resolution and 1-120Hz refresh rate, similar to the Ultra. The battery capacity is just 100mAh shy of the Ultra too. This is the best S+ model we’ve seen in years and comparable to the Ultra, with the only noticeable downside being the cameras, which are basically the same as those on the S23+.
For £200 less, you can opt for the smaller Galaxy S23. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage (versus 512GB on the S23+ and S23 Ultra) and features a display stuck at FHD+ resolution, with charging happening at just 25W, not 45W like the larger models.
It’s worth mentioning that Samsung will provide 7 generations of OS updates and 7 years of security patches for these devices. Amazon is currently offering the official silicone cases for the Galaxy S24 series at half price, available in multiple colors.
There are also vegan leather cases available, but these are currently being sold at full price. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, priced at £600, offers 128GB of storage and features an FHD+ display with 25W battery charging (for a 4,500mAh battery).
Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy A25 is a popular, more affordable option. It features a 6.5” FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, an Exynos 1280 chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging.
