Kia Pakistan has made the unexpected decision to raise the prices of its Picanto hatchback and Sportage crossover SUV. The company has not given a specific reason for this change, but the official notification states that the new prices will take effect on February 1, 2024. Could this be an early Valentine’s Day surprise?
Updated Kia Picanto Price
The car manufacturer has increased the price of the manual variant of Picanto by Rs. 250,000, bringing the new price to Rs. 3,600,000 from the previous Rs. 3,350,000. This price is ex-factory and includes CVT.
Revised Rate for Kia Sportage
Similar to the Picanto, the price of Sportage’s Alpha variant has been raised by Rs. 250,000, making the new ex-factory price (including CVT) Rs. 7,550,000, up from Rs. 7,300,000.
Both vehicles can be booked with a partial payment.
Terms and Conditions
- All new orders from February 1, 2024, will be invoiced at the new ex-factory prices.
- All orders booked in the LMC system, effective February 1, 2024, will be delivered at the new ex-factory prices.
- Customers can continue to take advantage of the limited cashback offer on all Sportage variants (PKR. 150,000) until February 29, 2024.
- Ex-factory prices do not include freight and insurance charges.
- New/additional duties and taxes imposed by the government at the time of delivery will be the responsibility of the customer.
This marks the first car price increase of 2024, which could potentially set a trend for other companies in Pakistan. Despite some stability in the local car industry, high prices continue to make cars a luxury for many, and this price hike may further put them out of reach for the average person. The local car market has experienced a shift from offering various incentives, such as free registration and insurance, to now seeing sudden price hikes, as seen with Kia Pakistan’s decision to revise their prices.
