Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has exciting news to share – the metro bus service will soon be expanding to another city within the province. Through a recent social media post, CM Maryam Nawaz announced that Faisalabad will soon have its own metro bus service, fulfilling a promise previously made by Mian Nawaz Sharif.

Responding to a citizen’s request to address the public transport issues in Faisalabad, the Chief Minister assured that she would be having a final meeting with the Transport department today. She revealed that a substantial fleet of 700 buses would be approved for Punjab, with a significant number dedicated to improving transportation in Faisalabad.

CM Punjab emphasized that the expanded service will cover all major routes, showing a comprehensive approach to enhancing public transportation in the city. She also confirmed that these buses will operate on specific routes with set schedules, along with established bus stops and shelters throughout the cities.

This initiative is a result of a promise made by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his pre-election campaign to introduce the Orange Line Metro Train in Faisalabad. Now, under CM Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, this promise will be fulfilled through a metro bus service.

Electric Bikes & 600 Buses

In a recent meeting in Lahore, CM Maryam Nawaz approved the acquisition of 657 eco-friendly passenger buses for major cities in the province. Additionally, plans were discussed to provide 20,000 electric bikes to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.

Earlier this month, CM Punjab instructed officials to launch the “Sarkein Bahaal Punjab Khushhal” project, focusing on repairing all inter and intra-district roads. This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to socio-economic development and enhancing the overall quality of life.

The announcement of expanding the metro bus service to Faisalabad, along with other transportation initiatives, showcases CM Maryam Nawaz’s dedication to meeting the urgent needs of Punjab’s residents.
