According to local media reports, pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S24 in South Korea have reached a new high. Nearly 1.2 million devices were pre-ordered in the first week, surpassing the 1.09 million mark set by the Galaxy S23 lineup for the same period previously.
ETNews reported that the company is on track to ship 36 million units of the new flagship devices. This would surpass the previous record of 30 million set by the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ duo, which were launched five years ago.
Samsung is experiencing increased interest in its devices both online and in physical stores. Many people are visiting stores to experience the phones in person and to explore the new AI features. One carrier has confirmed that over 60% of the pre-orders are for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

While interest in the new Galaxy S24 phones is strong, it still falls short of the over 1.3 million pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 10 back in August 2019 as reported. A Samsung spokesperson confirmed the success, but details of pre-orders will be revealed after the market launch on January 30th.
