The Kawasaki ZX-6R is a nimble and fast street bike that doesn’t sacrifice its racing track capabilities. Its success lies in its impressive road handling and customizable traction modes, offering great value for money. For passionate bike enthusiasts, it delivers that distinctive exhaust sound with flames, satisfying the need for speed.
An Overview of the Legacy
The Kawasaki ZX-6R, also known as 636, was initially introduced in 1995 as the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R with a 600 CC engine. It was later upgraded to a 636 CC engine in 2003. Although the 600 CC models were discontinued in 2012, the 636 CC bikes have continued to be produced.
The specific model we examined was purchased by a dedicated rider, Saad, for 3.2 million PKR in 2013.
Kawasaki ZX-6R Specifications
The ZX-6R stands out for its powerful engine specifications, generating 131 HP at 13,500 RPM from a four-stroke engine. It features a 6-speed manual transmission, Nissin brakes, and Anti-Locking Brake System (ABS).
Customizations
Saad aimed to enhance the strength and style of his bike, making numerous modifications using aftermarket parts. He replaced the stock side mirrors with 10R mirrors for improved visibility, swapped the nose with a carbon-fiber one, and added new mudguards, rear cowl, visor, bar ends, hose pipes, fuel tank opener, keys, and quick shifters. Additionally, he upgraded the exhaust to a shorty by Akrapovic and had the bike tuned.
Overall, he invested around 8 to 10 lacs in modifying the bike. Enthusiasts like him are rare. If you’re interested in giving your motorcycle a makeover, check out PakWheels’ bike blogs or consider purchasing a customized bike here.
