The Nothing Phone (2a) has finally been released after a series of leaks and teasers. Featuring a Glyph interface, the phone also brings to life Nothing’s initial concept design from 2020.

In typical Nothing style, the Phone (2a) is packed with personality, right down to the retail packaging and the unique transparent SIM eject tool with a fuse-like appearance. The package includes a Nothing-branded USB-C cable, the SIM tool, and some informative leaflets.

One aspect of Nothing that often goes unrecognized is its interpretation of Android (version 14 in this case) – the interface is carefully crafted and highly stylish. Moreover, Nothing OS 2.5 stands out from the competition with its unique design, including a distinct typeface.

The OS is impressively responsive, especially on the Nothing Phone (2a) with its 120 Hz display.

We currently have the Black model, but it is also available in White and “Milk”. The flat display comes with a factory-installed plastic protector, which is a nice touch. The transparent rear panel is a standout feature, giving a glimpse of the circuit board. The dual camera sits centrally within the NFC coil, flanked by three Glyph lights.

While the design may appear sophisticated, the rear panel tends to accumulate static electricity, attracting dust particles and making it challenging to keep clean.

The matte finish on the phone’s frame is notably pleasant, offering a soft and grippy feel that is a delight to hold. Well done, Nothing!
